This is in our old garage, but after being burgled twice and having all our tools stolen we decided to move out and build a new garage. This put the build on hold for a few months while the insurance was sorted out and the new garage was built. They even stole these damaged alloys I used to keep my rear beam off the ground.

This was the first time I fitted the rear panel. The floor is screwed in and the chassis is nearly ready to stand on its own 4 wheels. So far the build has been fairly easy and I haven’t had any problems.

Just playing with a torch and a ten second shutter speed on the camera. Got to keep the build fun!

The engine ready to go in. no mods yet, just a clean up and paint job.

This is now a few months down the line. We have moved into the new garage and the build is going ahead a lot faster. Ready for the loom, fuel pipe and brake line to be fitted then the transmission tunnel panels can go on.

The engine is now in. The big problem with fitting this engine is that the brake master cylinder doesn’t fit due to the size of the carbs. To overcome this I have made a floor mounted pedal keeping the original Ford dimensions so that the leverage acting on the servo isn’t changed. This hasn’t been fully tested yet but initial trials have proved successful.

Got a good deal on these wheels and Yokohama tyres package, couldn’t resist it and I think they look quite good.

The rust on the side panels are due to a leak in the roof above the shelf. This was wire brushed off and treated before the high build primer was sprayed on. All the body panels have now been formed and ready to take off to spray. The Corsa in the background is Ians ‘other’ Corsa. The rally car hasn’t changed for a while yet.
